I probably read more than I write…let me just say…when I’m not writing, I’m reading. Fiction.
And lately I’ve noticed that some authors pad their pages (and book) with repeating the “conflict” (and supposed resolutions open to the protagonists) over and over again. Different wording and phrasing but still repetitive.
I can only assume that they don’t know that their story line is shallow and their characters need to be richer so in order to make their 
book relevant and long enough to be published, they are redundant to the max!
Don’t get me wrong…a little redundancy is acceptable. To remind the reader of the protagonist’s dilemma and how they might resolve the issue/s. But it must be done with a light hand and NEVER to just bulk up their book.
