trees await the next
message on the air
not a whisper of birdsong
not a leaf-rustle intrudes
as it falls
fluttering to the ground
The wind has departed
beyond the next hill
leaving in its wake
Shall the still wind haunt
amongst the trees?
or come roaring back, shrieking?
